Heimat: Trailblazer

My dad is one of those people who always knew what he wanted to be when he grew up, in his case that was being a pilot. It was not an easy career to get into since he was unable to go the military route. He was caught in a Catch 22, that being he needed hours to be able to fly but wasn’t allowed to fly without hours. His first flying job was flying tours in the Grand Canyon (image in top left corner) after someone decided to take a chance on him and after years of other wacky and dangerous flying jobs and other side gigs to afford type ratings he was able to get hired as a commercial pilot, currently he is a captain at Southwest. He is my biggest supporter in literally everything I do because that’s something that he didn’t have when he was starting out on his own. I love my dad and he’s probably my best friend and I’m very thankful for all that he does. Other images shown are a Buddhist prayer (silver card) he got when he first got his aviation license for “just in case something happens I’ll be all right”, a picture he sent on a runway (he loves vlogging and documenting his trips for me and my sister), and an old photo of the two of us at his first ever commercial job (skywest).
